Susan Elizabeth Blanchard, 57, went to be with her heavenly father, peacefully, on October 19, 2025,surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mississippi, on May 7, 1968. Eagerly awaiting her, in Heaven, are her mother, Betty Walker, her father, Nathan Walker, as well as her brother, Nathan (Bud) Walker II.
Susan is survived by her pride and joy sons, Quinton Blanchard, Marshall Blanchard, (Hannah), grandchild, Nathan Hyatt Blanchard, as well as her long time companion, Leslie Strubel, Aunt Carol Chestnutt, and cousins Chris Chestnutt, Cheryl Sutton, and Vicky East.
Friends and family know her for her mother’s warmth, wisdom, personable nature and her father’s strength, loyalty, and charisma.
Susan cared deeply for her growing family and community, instilling a spirit of unconditional generosity and fellowship to all of those around her. She was a light in so many lives and will truly be missed by all that knew her. She had an incredible heart for helping others. There are no words for this unexpected loss.
Early in her working career, she worked for the James City County recreation center, running many youth camps, generating many lifetime friendships with many children, who called her Miss Suzi. Susan later ran her own successful massage therapy business, in Toano Va. up until her passing, where she had many faithful clients. She also played a key role at Amish Custom Furniture, Williamsburg Va. for the last 18 years. Her greatest happiness came from time she spent with family and her favorite past time of doing jig saw puzzles.
Susan’s newest joy was being Grandma to Hyatt.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Faith Fellowship Church, 112 Schoolhouse Lane, Williamsburg Va. 23188. Light refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, in her memory, to Faith Fellowship Church, or a charity of your choice.
