Teddy Loudell Morgan Sr., age 88, of Virginia Beach, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 3, 2021. He was born on January 8, 1933 in North Springs, West Virginia to father MJ Morgan and mother Artie Lockhart.
Ted enlisted in the US Navy at an early age during the Korean War. He served aboard both the USS Tutuila and the USS Mazama. Following his four years of Naval Service, he went to work for Overnite Transportation. He retired after 45 years of service, logging over 4 million miles on the nation’s highways.
Outside of his professional career, he was an avid guitar player and collector. He learned to play at an early age and still played up until his passing. He loved instrumental guitar music, as well as Southern Gospel music. Through the years, he performed with the Gospelites, Londonaires Quartet and others. Ted was also a very talented artist, and was commissioned often to create scenic paintings for his friends in the trucking industry. In addition to his scenic paintings, he enjoyed publishing comics where his sense of humor was really able to shine.
Ted was the happiest man you will ever meet. He found humor in everyday life, and his kindness was second to none. His smile was infectious, and he left a lasting impression on those around him. He will be sorely missed.
Ted is predeceased by his parents, and youngest son Duane Morgan.
