Joseph Maddox left a message on October 3, 2025:
Terry was just a vibe in himself. He was true. He was honorable. He believed in his worth, and he lived it every day. He was proud to love his daughters. He was proud to love his grandson. And he was proud to share life with those who chose to walk beside him. But here’s what set him apart: Terry loved people individually. His love wasn’t general—it was personal. He looked at you, and you felt seen, valued, and cared for. Not everyone can do that. But Terry could. I’ll tell you this from my own heart: the first few times I got in my car to head home after being with him, I’d be in tears. Because I live that same way—choosing to love people individually, freely. And when I was with Terry, I felt it back. It was real. It was possible. And it reminded me that love like that—that free, honest, individual kind of love—that’s God’s love at work.

To my two beautiful nieces Ashlee and Sydney, A father's love is eternal, hold onto that and let it be your guiding light. Sending you love during this difficult time. You are not alone. I am a phone call away. I am here if you need someone to talk to or share stories with. Remember be kind and gentle to yourselves, as I know the waves of emotions which come and go out of nowhere. Trust and lean on HIM (our heavenly father) ,as HE promised never to leave or forsake you. I will always treasure the special memories your dad and I had together as brother and sister. We spent a lot of our time together sharing our deepest thoughts, fears, and dreams during our walks to school carrying the famous brown paper bag lunches. Your dad, my brother, will be Forever missed. Many wonderful moments in time, forever etched in my heart. Love Aunt Barbie
