Timothy J. Hagen-Long, born October 3, 1949, in New York City, passed away on May 26, 2025, in Virginia Beach, at the age of 75. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Tim will always be remembered for his kind soul, generous spirit, amazing sense of humor, and his famous chocolate egg cream. Tim graduated from Fordham University, in New York and immediately went to work for Allstate Insurance Company. He retired as an Insurance Fraud Investigator after a 32 year career. He was fortunate to have enjoyed many years in retirement where he was able to focus on his passions of family life, gardening, traveling, science and politics, a testament to his ever-inquisitive mind.
Tim was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Charles William and Claire Rita Hagen (nee Donohue); and a brother, James (Jimmy) Hagen and his wife, Ginny. He is survived by his devoted wife, Langdon Hagen-Long; his children, Sarabeth Hagen, Jonathan Bristol (Connie), Molly Sarah Risner (Andrew), Jennifer Bristol Reitz (Joshua); and his seven grandchildren: Timothy James Warmack, Cory Braden (Rachel) and Cassie Colton (Thomas), Dylan and Logan Risner, Christian and Noah Reitz, and one great grandchild, Griffin, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Tim is also survived by sisters Maureen Lipman and Sharon Hagen, and by his brother, Patrick Hagen (Diane).
A Celebration of Life to honor Timothy’s memory will be held at a date and time to be determined. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
Tim will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his keen sense of humor, thoughtfulness, generosity, and loving light, whose goal was to make everyone else feel comfortable and cared for. He will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all those who knew him.
