Hertford, NC ~ Known by many friends as Smitty, or Timmy to family, Timothy Smith was called home on May 21, 2022. He was born in Welch, WVA, lived the majority of his life in the Hampton Roads area, and for the past 8 years, he resided in Hertford, NC.

Tim was loving, kind, and always willing to lend a hand, even to strangers. He loved watching his grandson play soccer, was an avid lifelong Redskins fan, enjoyed Nascar, and liked watching old Westerns. The door to his garage was always open to anyone that wanted to stop by and chat, swap tales, or just share a laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Kelly Raunswinter Smith, his daughter Lindsey Smith (Stephen), and his grandson, Parker Olen Smith.

Tim was predeceased by both parents, Bernard Smith and Catherine “Cat” Highberger Smith. He leaves behind 3 siblings, Danny Smith (Vanessa), Robert “Bobby” Smith (Susan), and Deborah “Debbie” Smith Gerlach (Bob), as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 2-5pm at the Holiday Island Clubhouse. The address is 123 Clubhouse Rd, Hertford NC 27944. Please feel free to bring a dish to pass.
