On the afternoon of November 23rd, 2025, Tomi Randall Young was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 64.
Although born in California, the son of a Navy family, Tomi spent most of his life in the Williamsburg area. A graduate of Bruton high school, he was known and admired by all his school mates for his outgoing personality and unbridled joy for life. An avid basketball fan, Tomi worked with the William and Mary men’s basketball team for many years and was often a guest of the CAA tournament.
He became a fixture in the media game room in Octoberfest at Busch Gardens as a change maker and game play advisor but was forced to give up working when he was physically no longer able to drive. He kept a small apartment in Williamsburg where he became an avid movie buff and an active member of Daybreak Church. In 2020, after reaching a point where he could no longer care for himself, Tomi moved into a residential care community which is where he met and fell in love with June. Earlier this year, the two had a friendship-ring exchange ceremony witnessed by many from his church and care community.
Tomi was preceded in death by his father Capt Randall W. Young, USN (ret) and is survived by his partner in life, June Diaz, his mother, a sister and brother and by his Daybreak Church family. A Celebration of Life is planned for Tomi around the time of his birthday in January.
Rest in peace brother!
