Valerie Ann Craft (Culbertson), 62, went home to be with our Lord on July 20, 2025 with her loving husband by her side.
She was born on October 16, 1962 in Norfolk, Virginia to Emil Grant Culbertson “Curly” and Marilyn Jane Culbertson who predeceased her. Valerie grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and was a graduate of Princess Anne High School class of 1981
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James P. Craft, Jr.; her brother Charles Grant Culbertson “Chuck” and his wife Sherri Culbertson; her sister-in-law Joan Galbraith and her family; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, her aunts and dear friends. She is additionally survived by her church family at Woodland Heights Baptist Church and work friends at Chesapeake Department of Revenue where she spent ten years.
She will be so deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a “tiny bit” who impressed us constantly with her sheer determination to not let life’s hardships hold her back nor shake her faith in her Lord and Savior. The verse she carried in her phone reflects beautifully who she was. “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5:16.
Family will receive friends from 10:15 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am on August 9, 2025 at Woodland Heights Baptist Church, 529 Providence Road, Chesapeake, VA 23325. Reception immediately following service in the Church social hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Woodland Heights Baptist Church Benevolent fund or a favorite charity of your choice.
