Vickie Jean Rose, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 24, 2025. She was born July 14, 1949, in Newport News, Virginia and was a Hampton resident for more than 70 years.

Vickie was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed reading and spending time with her beloved dog. She retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after many years of dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Rose and Ruby Watkins Rose.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly Hammond (David), Kristina Norville (Jason), and Kellea Sumrak (Richard), and four grandsons, Jonathan, Kolton, Aiden, and Greyson; and one granddaughter, Megan. She loved them all dearly.

A private family inurnment will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park in August. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to visit the Cremation Society of Virginia website to share memories and words of condolence with the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local SPCA or animal shelter in Vickie’s memory, reflecting her deep love for animals.
