Yorktown-Willa Jean Watson, age 86, passed away, peacefully on January 13, 2021. She will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, Amon and Sabra Dial. Willa was the youngest of ten children and all nine of her siblings have passed away. Her husband, Clarence Watson, also, predeceased her by many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn A DeCarlo; son-in-law Thomas R DeCarlo, III; granddaughter, Jennifer L DeCarlo and many nieces and nephews.
She grew up in Cuzzie, West Virginia (her mother was postmistress). work took her to Bridgeton, NJ and later to Elmer, NJ. In 2010 she moved to Yorktown, VA to enjoy time with her daughter’s family. She retired from Wheaton Glass Factory. Another place she enjoyed working for was Wodlinger grocery store in Elmer, NJ.
She enjoyed being with family, talking to people, Sand castles, Craft shows and Quilt guild show and tell.
The family would like to thank The Newport for all their care and kindness.
A celebration of her life will take place in NJ, once it is safe to travel.
Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News is handling the arrangements.
