Willard (Bill) Ahlman, passed away at the age of 74 on December 3, 2025 in Hospice House of Williamsburg following a series of complex health challenges. He had been hospitalized with diabetic complications which interrupted his strong willed determination to remain independent. He began residential long term care this summer as his health continued to decline.
Bill’s career as a classroom teacher, church organist and choir director ended in 2008 with amputation of both legs from diabetic neuropathy. Life in a power wheelchair didn’t slow him down for the next 17 years as he focused on friends, family, neighbors and his love of cooking. His parents predeceased him in 2011 and 2013. He leaves behind his sister Lynne and her husband Bill Christensen in Williamsburg, nephews Todd Christensen in Richmond and Scott Christensen in Yorktown along with his cousins, Kathy Leurs in NY and Jim Donahue in MI.
We are honoring his decision to not have a funeral or celebration of life. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory would be welcomed at Hospice House of Williamsburg using this link: Support – Hospice House of Williamsburg
