With profound sadness and eternal love, we announce the passing of our beloved Willie Charles “Zeke” Mincey, who departed this life peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 77, after courageously battling a terminal illness. A proud son of Chesapeake, Virginia, Born of Metter, GA he transitioned into the arms of the Heavenly Father and into the embrace of the ancestors he so deeply revered.

A proud veteran, Willie served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later rose to the distinguished rank of Chief in the United States Navy where he retired. His military journey did not end with retirement—he continued to serve the nation through his work with Raytheon, where he was a Military Systems Specialist for U.S. Customs and collaborated with the Drug Enforcement Agency on major overseas projects. His integrity, leadership, and expertise left a lasting mark in every role he held.
Willie was also a scholar, having attended Albany State University, and a lifelong student of wisdom. Whether through his military service, mentorship, or storytelling, he imparted values of courage, discipline, and love. He was a man of deep Catholic faith, sharp intellect, quiet strength, and a heart big enough to carry generations.
