Funeral Director
Sharon Morgan-Jones serves as a funeral director and pre-need counselor for Cremation Society of Virginia in Newport News, VA.
A Boston native, Sharon spent her childhood in New England and Greeneville, TN, where her father and two of her three brothers were born.
In 1974, she joined the U.S. Navy and became a Corpsman stationed in California. She then dedicated her life to raising her two sons, Tom and James, and worked as a training specialist for over a decade with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Hanover, New Hampshire, and Nashville, TN.
In 1995, she relocated to Virginia and worked 11 years in administration at Peninsula Funeral Home. Since joining the Altmeyer family in 2010, as office manager for the Riverside Chapel, Sharon has become crematory certified and enrolled in school and received her associate of applied science degree in funeral service.
Sharon lives in Norfolk with her husband, Doug. Together they have four children and six grandchildren. She is a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Hampton and belongs to Parrot Head Club Tidewater, an organization that supports the Alzheimer’s Association, Susan G. Komen, SPCA, Ovarian Cancer, local food banks, and a variety of other charities.
