Hampton – Joseph R. Blackley, 57, passed away on May 7, 2022 from a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born on March 3, 1965 in Hampton, Virginia to Irene and Moses Blackley. He was preceded in death by both parents, siblings, Inez Harrell, Moses Blackley Jr, Clarence Blackley, Claudia Jennings, and Mansfield Blackley (Nadine); and aunts, Hattie Wilson and Laurine Lewis.
Joseph, also known as Yak to his close family and friends, worked as a plumber for many years with several different companies in the Hampton Roads area. He was an avid sports fan who had a great love for the Dallas Cowboys.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Gloria Burton, sisters Althea Blackley, Jacqueline Blackley, and Mary Wilson (Leo), brothers Michael Blackley, Morris Blackley, Steve Blackley, Timothy Blackley, and Larry Blackley, aunt Alberta Robinson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
