Florence Ball, a beacon of love, faith, and determination, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Norfolk, VA, at the age of 80. Born on July 6, 1945, in Manayunk, PA, she lived a life full of grace, warmth, and unwavering spirit.
Throughout her years, Florence dedicated herself to her work as a house cleaner, bringing meticulous care and kindness to every home she touched. Her tireless work ethic was matched only by the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. With a heart full of love and a sweet tooth to match, Florence was known for her delightful spirit and infectious laughter.
Her deep-rooted faith was a guiding light, inspiring those around her. As a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Florence contributed her time and energy as a volunteer, particularly cherishing her role in the changing of the altar. Her commitment to her faith community was a testament to her generous heart and nurturing soul.
Florence’s passions extended beyond her faith. She cherished her angel and Elvis collections, finding joy and comfort in these treasured items. Her zest for life was evident in her vibrant personality and the profound love she shared with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anthony and Catherine Olszewski, Florence is survived by her devoted husband of 18 years, Richard L. Ball, Sr., and her loving daughter, Caroline “Carrie” Webb. She also leaves behind her stepson, Richard L. Ball, II, brother Francis Olszewski, five adoring grandchildren—Marty, Chris, Jennifer, Bobby, and Roy—and four precious great-grandchildren: Alex, Cady, Rae, and Lennox. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends will forever cherish her memory.
Florence’s life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and love. She touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
A service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norfolk, with details to be announced at a later date. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join them in honoring her remarkable life and legacy.
