He was skilled at carpentry, electrical work, and all things theatre.
Sky was a big teddy bear who lovingly helped his family and friends whenever they were in need and in whatever way they needed. His smile was big, his laugh was bigger, and his heart was biggest of all.

Of his most important relationships are his cadre of “brothers”, Thomas McCuen, Noah and Eli Kaplan, Martin Lawrence, John Bowhers, Adam Taylor, Jay, Eric, Joseph, and Colin Tuthill and Achilles Segers, as well as his mentors Marguerite Alley, and Vince and Pamela Bowhers. Also left behind are Stephanie Besos, Leylah, Joseph and Jacob.
Sky is predeceased by his maternal Grandparents, Ruth and Charles Payne, and his paternal Grandmother, Bernice Curtis, Great-uncle Harley Helms, Great-aunt and great-uncle Helen and Stan Compton, Uncle Ralph Compton, Aunt and Uncle Jenny and Bill Burrowbridge.
A visitation gathering will be held Sunday, January 31 from 2pm to 4 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Social distancing guidelines and mask protocol will be followed.
A Zoom celebration will be scheduled for those friends beyond Tidewater. A larger celebration of Sky’s life will be held when we can all gather together in person. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial and Scholarship Fund. Details are available at www.patriot playhouse.org.
