Alice “Jackie” Lewis Whittaker, 87, peacefully left this world to join the Lord and her family on February 8, 2024 with her family at her side. Born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Alice Brown Lewis and Russell Thomas Lewis. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Roger C. Whittaker.

After many years and moves along the east coast, Jackie and Roger landed back in Virginia Beach over twenty years ago to be close to their children.

Jackie was always a strong woman who never met a stranger. Her friends and family could always count on her for advice, counsel and support. She was a long-standing member of St. Michael Lutheran Church (Prince of Peace) where she dedicated endless hours in service to others.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her two sons, Russ Whittaker (Mayra) and Bill Whittaker (Shelly); daughter, Terri Whittaker-Grimm (Al); grandchildren: Jenny Snyder (Jeff), Steven Whittaker (Gayla), Harrison Whittaker (Katelynn), Hayley Whittaker (Kyle) and Randy Swartz (Anna); and great-grandchildren: JR, Adaline, Ainsley, Mark, Lincoln, Mason, Mottley, Lennon, Eli, Zack and Airiana.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at St. Michael Lutheran Church at 2208 Princess Anne Road, VB, 23456 with reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Michael Children’s Fund.
