Annie Laura Jarman, 90, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2024, surrounded by love and family.  She would tell you that she is gone to spend eternity with her Lord Jesus Christ and has changed her residence to heaven.  She is predeceased by her parents (Thomas and Ida Barbour) her youngest son (Glenn Jarman) and her son-in-law (Ray Ambrose).

Annie leaves behind four children Wanda Ambrose, Francis Edwards (Penny), James Jarman and Robert Jarman (Peggy).  She also leaves behind to cherish her memories, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren.   She dearly loved every one of them.

Annie was a dedicated single parent and did the best she could with what she had.  Everything that is beautiful, wonderful and great about our family was because of her.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, playing games on her tablet and most importantly gardening. She also enjoyed making fudge and crab dip (always requested at gatherings) and teaching whoever wanted to learn how to make her other dishes such as potato salad and pork chops.

In keeping with her wishes, her service will be for family. The memorial is now set for Saturday, February 15, 2025 starting at 11am at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Brian Edwards will give a sermon at her memorial. It will be her last attempt to make everyone mend their ways. She wants everyone together and hearing God’s word because of her. After the memorial, everybody is welcome to the Altmeyer Funeral Home reception hall, to fellowship with the family and have some food and refreshments.

She would also want a scripture included in her obituary: Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
