Arthur James Tillage Jr. (Jim), Age 69 peacefully passed away on Friday December 21st, surrounded by family, clergy and friends after a short illness. Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Mary Walton Tillage and Arthur Tillage Sr. Surviving him is his sister, Shirley Anne Tillage Zagrocki (Bill), nephews Robert Kiernan Jr. and Michael Reid Kiernan (Susan), great nephews and one great niece, an aunt and cousins; and his best friend of 30 plus years Mike Garrett. A Norfolk native, Jim was born 1 July 1949, attended Norfolk schools and graduated in 1967 from Maury High School. After an apprenticeship with Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, he went on to be employed at HOLTECH Corp. of Va. Beach as a machinist. Jim was a member of the Maury H.S. swim team and continued his passion for the water as an amateur diver. A Memorial and Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M on Saturday January 12th at Great Bridge United Methodist Church, 201 Stadium Dr., Chesapeake Va. 23322; reception to follow.
