Suffolk, VA – Barbara Jean Shelton, a cherished mother, grandmother, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at her residence. Born on July 26, 1952, in Suffolk, she was 72 years old at the time of her passing.

Barbara devoted many years of her life to serving the Suffolk area as a bus driver for Suffolk City Public Schools. Her warm smile and caring nature touched the lives of countless children and families throughout her career.

Beyond her professional life, Barbara was known for her compassionate spirit and her commitment to fostering children in need. Her home was always open, and her heart was always full, as she provided love and support to those who needed it most.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Shelton; her sons, Tyrone Shelton and Jeremiah Shelton; and her ten adored grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Per her request, no services are planned.  Barbara’s family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her and the lasting impact she made on their lives. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
