Barbara Morris Livesay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct 19th, 2011 at the age of 74, surrounded by family and friends. She was born April 9, 1937, in Renick, WV to the late Paul and Vinita Scott Morris. Barbara received her Associates Degree from Concord College in Athens, WV. She retired from the Fairfax County School system where she worked in Administration. Barbara was active in the Presbyterian Women, Symphonicity League and long time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She received numerous awards over the years, most noteworthy, Woman of the Year in Laureate Upsilon. She is preceded in death by her loving husband John Robert Bob Livesay and her brother Billy Morris. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Livesay Doyon of Virginia Beach, and her son Calvin Robert Livesay of Rock Hill, SC. She is also survived by her sister Carol Morris Creasman and brothers Warren and Robert Morris. In addition she leaves her loving grandchildren Sydney Nicole and Christopher Robert Doyon, and numerous friends and family. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by Melanie Lim and Mariel Rule who were her caregivers. A memorial service will be held and officiated by Rev Albert Butzer, First Presbyterian Church at 300 36th Street, Virginia Beach, VA, 23451 on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter, 7507 Standish Place, Rockville, MD, 20855.
