Barbara Gayk passed away on March 25, 2021 in Newport News, Virginia. She was a devoted Christian, mother to her three sons, and wife to her husband, John William Gayk, who passed away in 2006. Barbara was a long-time resident of Danville, Virginia and later moved to Williamsburg, Virginia. She was an instructor at the Danville School of Nursing and an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia where she held numerous roles including Sunday School Teacher and member of the church choir. She will be remembered for her strong leadership in church and community roles and for a life of volunteer and service to others.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, David and Debbie Gayk, Dan and Page Gayk, and Ted and Leslie Gayk and ten grandchildren: Shannon Gayk, Lucas Gayk, Helon Gayk, Casey Buchanon, Susan Harvey, Holly Burduja, Joe Gayk, John Gayk, David Gayk, and Frankie Gayk. She was also blessed with 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will plan a celebration of her life at a later time.
