Betsy passed away August 22, 2024, at her home, shortly after her son Thomas (Tom) Alexander, with her beloved significant other Curtis Allen by her side.
Betsy was born in Sayre to Nathan (Thomas) and Katherine Johnson on January 25, 1941. She made her home in Virginia Beach, VA.
Betsy was a hairdresser for many years. She was a very kindhearted and loving woman. Those who knew her say she possessed a heart of gold. She also was a dedicated caregiver. With her special heart she was always willing to help others in need.
Betsy enjoyed talking with her twin sister every Sunday. Betsy’s favorite pastime was taking care of both her own yard, and she also took great pleasure in maintaining the church’s yard for which she was a member. When she wasn’t landscaping, Betsy enjoyed playing Bingo. You would see her proudly displaying the American flag every day. Besides her family and various hobbies, there was nothing Betsy enjoyed more than spending time with her dog and ducks. Every night she would wait with her dog Happy and beloved partner Curtis for her ducks George and Alice to Peck at the door for special treats.
Betsy was predeceased by her parents Tom and Katherine, her sister Joanne Spencer, Beverly Ervin, brother Paul Johnson, and her son Tom his wife Maria.
Betsy is survived by her son Carl Alexander Jr. (Debra). Grandsons Jason Alexander (Amiee) and, David Alexander. Betsy also leaves behind several great grandchildren JJ, Abbie, Anthony. Betsy also leaves behind the family of her significant other Curtis Allen. Her twin sister. Betty Alexander and brother Donald (Tom) and his wife Pat Johnson. She also leaves her sister-in-law Bea Johnson.
Betsy had numerous nieces and nephews spanning many generations. Her legacy will live on through them.
Betsy wishes to be laid to rest with her parents and siblings that have gone before her. Graveside services will be held at Bradford County Memorial Park 20452 route 6 Towanda Pennsylvania 18848. Services will be held September 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Betsy’s honor to the Veterans Affairs office near you online or in person or the ALS Association.
