Bettie Myers Tucker, 74, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 7, 2013 in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Bettie was born on September 12, 1938 in Norfolk, VA. Continue ReadingBettie Myers Tucker, 74, died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 7, 2013 in Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Bettie was born on September 12, 1938 in Norfolk, VA. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert C. Myers and Elsie Cahoon Myers. Betty graduated from Maury High School and worked in the retail industry. She retired as a Corporate Executive for Roses Stores and after retirement she and her husband Richard traveled extensively in their motor home. She was very active in the Monaco Motor Home Association.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband and soul mate Richard of Virginia Beach, VA; children, Janet Tucker Richardson of Cincinnati, OH, Mae Tucker Blanchard and husband Randy of Mill Creek, WA, Tracy Tucker Godey and her husband Jim of Baltimore, MD.; and Godson, Sean Leary of Syracuse, Utah; siblings, Albert C. Myers, Jr. and wife Dawn of Nags Head, NC, Sandra Myers Leary of Manhasset, NY, Carolyn Myers Park and husband Griffin of Chesapeake, VA, Michael C. Myers and wife Bettie of Chelan, WA, Sharon Myers Twisdale and husband Herbert Consolvo of Edenton, NC, and Robert P. Myers and wife Sandy of Long, SC; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to her doctors and the nursing staff at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital who gave her such excellent and compassionate care during her illness.
Bettie was the life and heart of our family and she will be truly missed.
A private family service to celebrate Bettie’s life will be held at a later date.
Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements.
