Betty Colene Dickens Dalbey, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2022.  She was born on June 25, 1938 in Ruffin, North Carolina.

Betty truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; thrift store shopping, tending to her garden and spending time with her family.  She made friends everywhere she went!  She loved her family, gardening, fishing, hummingbirds, dancing and traveling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Riley Dickens and Edna Stanbery; brother, Lonnie Dickens, and granddaughter, Emily Rogers.

She is survived by her daughters, Randi Akers (KC), Jo Ann Rogers (James) and Michele Page (Eric); her grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Britney and Eric Jr. and a large extended family.

A private celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later time.

Her family will miss her tremendously….from her contagious smile to her sense of humor.

Cremation Society of Virginia-Newport News assisted the family with arrangements.
