Her later years were spent as a one person welcoming committee and good will ambassador to all who passed through 47th Street on their way to the beach, walking from her home to the beach and back several times daily. No one was a stranger to Betty and with many of those she encountered she formed lasting friendships. Her “Beach Friends” became a very important part of her life. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a most generous and caring person. A woman who loved the beach, the dolphins, her friends, and most of all her family.
A memorial service will be planned in Virginia Beach at a later date.
