Betty Lee Neal

Virginia Beach- Betty Lee Neal, 87, known to many family and friends as “Boo,” peacefully departed this life on March 14, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Edna Jelinek. She is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Jack Neal, Sr.; brother Ferdinand “Bubba” Jelinek, and daughter and son in law Jackie and Curt Richelieu.

Betty was a graduate of Norview High School and William & Mary. She worked for different companies in Bookkeeping & Accounting. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved Nascar, camping, fishing, the beach, gardening, flowers, animals (she loved all her pets), and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Salem Methodist Church on Salem Rd in Va Beach. Mom truly lived a great life and loved to tell her tales of her adventures, we will miss her so much.

“Boo” leaves to cherish her memory: daughter and son in law Nancy & John Turco, daughter and son in law Jeri & Mike Phillips; son and fiance Jack Neal, Jr & Shawn Vadnais; grandchildren: Stephanie (Josh Wheeler), Nicole (Tyler Prince), Jayna (Brandon Eveland), Emily Neal (Daniel Feagans), Charlie Richelieu; great grandchildren: Tanner, Stevie, Jacob, Avery and Caroline.

The family sends special thanks to Sentara Nursing Center and rehabilitation Center in Va Beach for all their care. Thanks also to Hospice, Dr. reed, and Cremation Society of Virginia.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date for both Jack and Betty, as that was their wish.
