Betty White Thompson, a 52 year resident of Virginia Beach, VA passed away Thursday July 13, 2023 at 95 years old. Betty was born July 5, 1928 in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Wayne” Thompson Sr.

Betty attended Girls High School in Atlanta and Georgia State University. It was there she met Wayne Thompson, the love of her life for 67 years. She is survived by her three children and their spouses; Albert “Wayne” Thompson Jr and wife Joanne of Alpharetta, GA, Nancy Thompson of Virginia Beach and Paul Thompson and wife Davis of Irvington, VA. Betty is also survived by four grandchildren; Tyler Thompson Huddle (David), Camp Thompson, Benjamin Thompson (Belinda) and Katherine Thompson.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother to her three children. She enjoyed adventurous world travel with her husband in their retirement and was a tireless caregiver to him later in life.

She recently celebrated her 95th birthday with her family and said “it was the best birthday week of her life.”

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach at 300 36th Street Virginia Beach, VA 23451 at 11am on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
