She started her career as a U.S. Naval photographer, and up until her last days, worked as the VP of Exports at Nelson Int’l. She also served as 1st VP of the HRTC. She is survived by her children: James (Christine) Wentzel, Mike (Jill) Wentzel—granddaughter Taylor, and Cynthia Wentzel. Born a Christmas baby, her delight was to play “santa” to her family and friends all year long, especially in sharing her passion to cruise and travel with Cindy and Taylor. Many will remember the fun-filled bus trips with her to cheer on their beloved Redskins. A memorial service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home (Greenwich Rd) on 8/21/17 at 1:00 pm; followed by a graveside service with military honors at 2:30 pm in The Good Shepherd Mausoleum (Woodlawn Memorial Gardens—Newtown Rd entrance). In lieu of flowers, please donate “In Memory of Blanche” at http://ww5.komen.org/.
