I have so many memories of Bob. He was always there to help me when I had a programming problem I could not figure out. He was one of the smartest programmer I have ever worked with. He will be missed.

I also worked with Bob Olsen at the NARF, Naval Air Rework Facility, later renamed NADEP. Bob was an expert CNC programmer and programmed the most complex parts with the (then) state of the art 5 Axis CNC machines. He was the brains and talent behind a lot of the production of replacement or repair parts for the NAVY's A6 Attack and F-14 fighter jets. Even though he was a top level craftsman he was fair too and would hear you out while keeping an open mind. I know this for a fact because it happened to me on one occasion. My wife Vicki and I sold Bob our green Opel "Sport Wagon" ... (some family members might remember this bright green car!) I had seen pictures of Bobs 70 birthday party and did not know he was still in the eastern Virginia area. I am very sorry to hear of Bob's passing and my condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

I worked with Bob in the machine shop at NADEP (aka NARF). He was as very smart, hard working man, and a very skilled NC programmer. You could always tell when Bob was around because of that big wonderful laugh. Sorry he's gone.

I have so many fond memories of Bob. We worked together in the CNC programming office at NADEP. Bob was extremely gifted and one of the smartest persons I ever met. He was a great mentor and I learned so much from him. Bob was one of the best CNC programmers in the entire country. Bob was so much fun to be around. We used to do annual trips, with a small group of us, to drive to Darlington SC and watch Nascar racing. I could talk about these trips for hours. Bob worked hard, but always knew how to have fun when the work was done. He was a great guy and will be missed by many. My condolences go out to Bob's family. RIP, my friend.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
