Bonnie Decker, lovingly known as “Bon Bon,” passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Yorktown, Virginia, surrounded by her family. She was 67.
Born in Sikeston, Missouri, on September 10, 1957, Bonnie was the daughter of the late James Decker and Pauline Hand. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Linda, James, and David Decker.
She was a devoted mother to Ken (Gina) Decker, Brandi (Stephen) Levick, and Marcus Distelhurst, and filled their lives with unconditional love. She absolutely adored her grandchildren—Shawn and Aiden Levick, and Jameson and Jack Decker—she treasured every moment with them.
Bonnie had a generous heart and a quirky sense of humor. She was known for “handing out smiles”—small painted rocks with cheerful faces that she would give to people she met, spreading joy and kindness wherever she went. A passionate artist, she loved sharing her creativity and jokes, as well as finding deep peace and inspiration at the beach—her favorite place to be.
She shared a special bond with her twin sister, Brenda (Bill) Martz, and is also survived by siblings Kenneth (Theresa) Decker and Paula (Bruce) Wallace, as well as numerous nieces and a nephew who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Bonnie’s life was a canvas of kindness, laughter, and love—a beautiful masterpiece that will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Oklahoma, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the joy she brought into the world.
