Brian Edward Spigelmyer 58, dearly loved son of Brenda & Richard Coleman of Harrisburg, PA and the late, Guy W Spigelmyer, passed away at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, VA. on May 16th. Brian was a drywaller and loved his trade and enjoyed his fellow workers at various military bases in Newport News.
Brian was born in Lewistown, PA and his family moved to Harrisburg PA in 1975 and he eventually settled in Newport News, VA in 2001. He graduated from Central Dauphin Vo-Tech, Harrisburg PA, in 1978.
Brian like his father, Guy, was gifted with a beautiful voice and used his voice for the Lord. As a teen he sang in the Church Choir and a youth based singing group – Sincerely His. Brian also sang in his church’s praise and worship team as an adult. Brian was also a gifted tuba player and played in a brass group at church with his two brothers.
Brian is survived by two younger brothers, Curtis and Douglas; sister, Amy (Spigelmyer) Amell and brother-in-law, Robert Amel,l all residing in Harrisburg, PA. Brian is also survived by 2 Uncles and Aunts; 3 Nieces; 2 Nephews and 8 Cousins.
The family also wants to recognize Brian’s Newport News family, Tim Hill, Annette Purvis and his 7-11 friends that looked forward to seeing Brian as they all stopped for their morning coffee. Brian was well liked and was known to everyone as ‘Uncle Brian’. Tim and Annette welcomed Brian into their home for many great home-cooked meals. Their friendship and support was a great source of comfort to the family back home.
Brian’s friendship, loyalty and caring for others is a wonderful legacy that he leaves behind.
