Chesapeake, VA – Bruce Alan Zannitto, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 71.
Bruce was born on November 11, 1954, in Schenectady, New York, to Peter Vincent and Elizabeth Jean Zannitto. For many years, Bruce worked as a pharmacist, a profession that reflected his caring nature and desire to help others. He approached his work with dedication and professionalism, always striving to do things the right way.
While Bruce was dedicated to his work, his family was always the center of his world. Bruce shared 48 loving years of marriage with his wife, Katherine, the love of his life. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Their enduring partnership was one of Bruce’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.
Bruce was an incredible father to his daughters, Katrina and Shelby, who were the pride and joy of his life. He celebrated their successes, encouraged them through challenges, and loved them unconditionally.
His role as “Papa” brought endless joy to his life. His four grandchildren filled him with pride, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them, share stories, and create memories they will carry with them forever.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Vincent Zannitto and Elizabeth Jean Jensen Zannitto, and by his brothers, Peter Zannitto and Richard Zannitto. He is survived by his devoted wife, Katherine Christina Ryan Zannitto; his daughters, Katrina Filipowicz and her husband, John, and Shelby Turnbull and her husband, David; his sister, Sharon White; and four cherished grandchildren.
Bruce’s legacy is one of steadfast love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was the kind of husband who cherished his wife, the kind of father every daughter hopes to have, and the kind of grandfather whose love will be remembered for generations.
