Cameron A. Kessler passed away June 21, 2024 in Portsmouth, VA at 42 years old. Cameron passed away as a result of chronic substance abuse. He was born April 26, 1982 in Norfolk, VA and graduated from Hickory High School.
Cameron enjoyed having fun and was interested in art, tattoos, snow skiing, and jet skiing. He spent years of his short life in and out of correctional institutions due to his drug use. A police officer showing up at your door and telling you, “Your son has died,” is a parent’s worst nightmare. We lived years praying and worrying for Cameron.
Cameron is predeceased by his mother, Tamara E. Kessler, and grandfathers, Glen Cameron and Arlin Kessler. He is survived by his father, Allan E. Kessler, of Chesapeake, VA; his step-mother, Rhonda R. Kessler, of Chesapeake, VA; his brother, Connor Kessler; his grandmothers, Shirley Cameron, of Chesapeake, VA, and Mary E. Kessler of Chesapeake, VA; as well as numerous cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
Cameron will be buried at Christ Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery in Perry, GA in a private, family only ceremony at a later date. A memorial service will be held in Chesapeake, VA at a later date.
Cameron was very much loved and will be dearly missed.
