Carl S. Ranno – Virginia Beach, VA

Carl S. Ranno , 88, passed away on March 31, 2011. He retired as a resident engineer for the state of Massachusetts specifically at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst College, and Springfield Tech Community College. Carl was a longstanding member of the AFL-CIO Union for over 50 years.
He was born May 5, 1922 to the late Sebastiano and Maria in Cromwell, CT.
He is survived by his children; Seb Ranno and wife Carol of Nags Head, NC, Santi “Sam” Ranno and wife Ginny of East Hartford, CT. Carmelo Ranno, Jr of Buffalo, NY. Marlane Brickhouse and husband Jimmy of Virginia Beach, VA. Fran Sobon and husband Jimmy of Southampton, MA. Eight grandchildren and nine great – grandchildren
Besides his parents Carl was preceded in death by two wives, Connie and Joanne and two sisters Jennie & Margaret.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2:00pm at Tabernacle UMC 1265 Sandbridge Rd. Virginia Beach, Va. 23456

Marlane, Jimmy, Jamie, Michelle, and Matt - I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's a difficult time. I always loved hearing Marlane tell stories about her Dad. Marlane took such great care of him. She is a wonderful daughter. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the service since I will be out of town at my uncle's 85th birthday celebration. I'll be there in thought, though. Take care.
