Carmelo Pacheco, born March 27, 1945, in Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Hampton, Virginia, at the age of 79. Carmelo was a man of dedication and craftsmanship, whose life was marked by hard work and a constant curiosity for fixing and inventing. He spent many years as a truck driver, navigating countless miles with determination and care. His skills extended beyond the road, as he excelled in his role as a blind builder, where his attention to detail and passion for creation shone brightly. With a heart attuned to mechanics and a mind driven to innovate, Carmelo found joy in tinkering and repairing, leaving behind not just memories, but tangible pieces of his legacy in the things he built and the lives he touched.
Carmelo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Pacheco; his parents, Ventura and Delores Pacheco; and his siblings, Millie, Robert, Lucy, and Ramona Pacheco.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan and Antoinette Pacheco, who carry forward his spirit and love. His grandsons, Anthony, Jeremy, and Christopher, along with his great-grandchildren Camden, Violet, Georgia, and Alexandre, will forever cherish the warmth and wisdom he imparted.
Carmelo’s life was one of quiet strength and unwavering love for his family. His presence and influence will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
