Carolyn Vaughan of Virginia Beach passed away April 30, 2024, in Norfolk following a long illness. Carolyn was born in Norfolk in 1959 to John and Jacqueline Moss. She was a lifelong resident of Virginia, graduating from Kempsville High School in 1977.
Carolyn and her husband, Robert Vaughan, met each other as teenagers and were married at a young age. They were devoted to each other for the next 46 years. They were blessed by the arrival of three children, Angela Mulcahy, John Robert Vaughan, and Joshua Lee Vaughan. Carolyn loved her husband and family dearly, it was her mission to protect and nurture them and everyone in her life. She was a rock of care and support to all, and her departure leaves a deep hole in so many lives.
Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law Robert Vaughan, and her daughter, Angela. Left to cherish sweet memories of her are her beloved husband and sons, her dearly loved nine grandchildren and mother-in-law Sandra Vaughan. Carolyn is also survived by her sisters and their spouses Robin Doyle (Ronald) of Haines City, FL, Beverly Hill (Kelly) of Chesapeake, VA, and Donna Cooper (Lee) of Youngsville, NC, two brothers-in-law, Daniel (Wendy) of Norfolk, VA, and Darrin Vaughan of Charlottesville, VA. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom have lost a beautiful loving presence in their lives.
