CATHRYN CORLEY MINSTERMAN – Virginia Beach

Cathryn Corley Minsterman, 55, of Virginia Beach passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth Minsterman; two daughters, Michele Minsterman Kennedy and husband Zach, and Elizabeth Anne Minsterman; parents, William and Anne Corley; and sister, Nancy Corley Moore and husband Buddy. A memorial service and reception will be held at 11am Saturday, Jan. 29 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church 4200 Shore Drive Virginia Beach, VA 23455. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to OSLCï¿½s choir, of which she was a longtime member, and/or Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cremate.org.

Jerry and I shared lots of laughs with Cathy when we were hanging out with Buddy and Nancy at the Oyster Roast and at Otani's. She always had a great smile and positive attitude. She set an example for all of us in how to deal with awful news and challenges. Our prayers go out to all of her family and loved ones. I'm deeply saddened to hear the news of Kathy's passing. She was a good servant of the Lord, and I hope she is at peace. As a Facebook friend, I followed her daily trials and joys - she seemed to enjoy life as much as she was able to. My deepest condolences to the family. Go with God, Kathy.

You couldn't help but have a smile on your face when Cathy was around.After a big hug and a kiss you were hooked.She will be greatly missed.

Cathy was such a happy and positive woman. I have such fabulous memories from chorus trips for Cox with her, Michele, Liz and Nancy. I'm so sorry for your loss. Blessings to the whole family!

I will not mourn Cathy's departure from this world, but rather celebrate that I was fortunate to have known and loved her. She was a bright spot of my youth, always with a smile, always looking for the rainbow after the storm. She helped me grow up, Cathy had that shoulder to lean against. I wished her all the happiness and love this and the hereafter, has to offer.
