Charles E. Costas

Norfolk- Charles “Chuck” Costas, 67, beloved husband, father, brother, Papa and friend, went to be with his heavenly father on March 3, 2016. Chuck graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor degree, and attended graduate school at Clemson University. Chuck dedicated his life to his family, church and career. He wore many hats at Hampton Parks and Recreation over the 30 years that he worked there. Being the sports fanatic that he was, Chuck took great pride in coaching his daughter’s soccer teams, and cheering on his grandchildren in each sport that they played. Chuck was a loyal member of the church choir and had a huge impact on many youth at Talbot Park Baptist Church.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, David George Costas, Sr., his mother, Patsy Costas, and his brother, David George Costas, Jr.

Chuck was a loving husband to his wife of 38 years, Dana, and an amazing father to their daughters Stephanie Wensil, Beth Costas, and Holly Costas. He was also the proud Papa of Haley Carter, Jacob Sanders, Emily Sanders, Alexis Henderson, Harleigh Henderson, Aubrey Wensil, and Henry Costas. Additional survivors include his brother, John M. Costas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Talbot Park Baptist Church, Sunday March 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., by Reverend Aaron Brittain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Talbot Park Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
