Our loss is Heaven’s gain

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of this dear lady, Charmaine Rosenfield, devoted mother, Nana, Ma, stepmother, loving sister, aunt and friend. Our hearts are filled with sadness because of how much we will miss her, but we take comfort in the certainty that she is with the Lord with whom she walked every day.

Charmaine was a remarkable woman who showered those around her with love and affection. While the true loves of her life were daughter Samantha, son-in-law Larry, and her late husband Dave, she had a special bond with her grandson, Jacob.

Charmaine was known for her strength and for her devotion to God, and that devotion was what gave her the fortitude to help her overcome adversity whenever she encountered it. She was a caring and generous person especially when it came to helping others in need. A common feeling of those close to her, and even those who only had brief interactions with her, was her friendly, kind, and loving nature.

In addition to her daughter’s family, Charmaine leaves her sisters Maggie Dickerson and Carmen Brewer of Virginia Beach, Sue Gagnon-Smith of Florida, brother Jerry Gardner of California, stepson Marc, as well as nieces, nephews, step-grand and great grandchildren throughout the country and her many, many dear friends.

A gathering to celebrate her wonderful life has yet to be scheduled, but information will be posted when details become available.

Charmaine, my beautiful younger sister. The day you left me brought so many tears. I will always remember you sitting and staying with me when my cats Charlie and Miss Rosie expired. I could always count on you being there for me and all of us, anytime and anywhere. I love you and miss you so much.

Charmaine was the best aunt I could ask for. She turned me into a foodie by taking me to restaurants as a kid, and encouraging me to try things outside the kids menu. She worked relentlessly to bring the family together, hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations where she cooked most of the food. I didnt appreciate it enough when I was young, but I miss it now. Rest in peace Charm, we love you dearly.

Charmaine, I'm so upset w/u, I was supposed to die b4 u, I'm 5 yrs older! I'll miss our chit-chats, our walks in the Botanical Gardens, your beautiful home garden, and your bringing bouquet of flowers at our family dinners. I love and miss you terribly sis. Sue

Charmaine, my sister, best friend, teacher, confidant and so much more. Ever the joy and shining light in our family. Oh how we loved your flower arrangements. You have left us with so many wonderful memories. Never to be forgotten.

When I think of my aunt I think of a woman who exuded class and elegance. She was tenacious and persistent during her years of raising her wonderful daughter as a single mother, working two jobs throughout those years. Seeing her finally find love and happiness in her later years and having the ability to enjoy her life was God bringing her the love she had spent so many years giving to others. I will miss seeing her text messages that began with Bonjour or Bonsoir. You will be forever missed and always loved.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Charmaine was my neighbor for the last 4 years. She was a wonderful friend!!! She was caring and always thoughtful of others and she did love her BRIDGE——once, twice or sometimes three bridge games every week!!!!

May God give you comfort during this time. "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God."
