Christine “Tina” Mears Cunningham of Newport News, Virginia passed away on January 3, 2023.

Christine was born on July 30, 1952, to the late Pauline and Houston Mears in London, England.  

To know “Tina” was to love her.  She was unique, fearless, and fashionable.  She loved her family with every bit of her huge heart.  She was as fierce as a lion when it came to protecting those whom she loved and as gentle as a butterfly when showing kindness to others.  

She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Larry” Atkins, both of her parents and her brother, Wayne Mears.  She is lovingly survived by her brother, Dale Mears, her daughter and best friend, Tammy Wallace-Hurlbut (Darrel), her two sons, Anthony “Hawk” Cagle and Blanten Carr and Grandsons, John Wallace, and Jaxson Carr.

The family will gather privately at a later time to say their final goodbyes.
