Chesapeake, VA – Claudia Jean Johnson, born on February 23, 1949, at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on June 13, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 77.
Claudia devoted over 25 years of her career to nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN), specializing in cardiac care. Her dedication included 15 years of service at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Claudia’s work was marked by her unwavering commitment to providing compassionate and skilled care to patients during critical moments in their lives.
Beyond her professional life, Claudia was cherished for her vibrant sense of humor and the joy she brought to family gatherings. She created lasting memories with her famous “grandma pancakes” (crepes), a tradition beloved by her grandchildren.
Claudia is survived by her sons, Jeremiah and Lukas; her grandchildren, Levi, Grace, Charity, Mason, and Liam; and her younger sisters, Deborah McCarthy-Krisanits and Gail McCarthy. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Declan Asher Johnson, in 2007.
Claudia will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the love she infused into every meal she prepared for her family. Her legacy of care and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her.
