Norfolk- Cynthia (Cindy) Richardson, aged 64, died peacefully on July 7, 2017 at her home in Norfolk, VA, after a brief struggle with cancer.

She is survived by her two children, Kimberly and Howard (Lisa), six grandchildren; Chelsey, Raquel, Tanner, Howard III, Gracelyn, and Isabelle and life-long partner Ernest Yanke.

Cindy was born on March 22, 1953, in Buffalo, NY. She was born to Charles and Josephine (Nowak) Duerr, who had five other children; Carolyn, Charles, Christine, Carl and Cary. Cindy, the youngest daughter.

Many people referred to Cindy as mom or grandma as she always welcomed anybody into her home and treated everybody she met like they were family. She was well known for her love of a few things, in particular, butterflies, Betty Boop and cats…. especially cats!

To celebrate her life, the family is asking anyone who knew her, to come by Greenie’s, 196 W Ocean View Ave, Norfolk VA, Tuesday July 11 after 6 PM. We would love to hear any stories or memories you have of her. At the end of the night, we will be releasing balloons in her honor.
