David A. MacKay passed away on the night of October 17, 2022. He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was preceded by his father Donald B. MacKay, who also passed away from Pancreatic Cancer 6 yrs ago.
David is survived by his Life Partner, Dena Kelly; Mother, Geanette Wells; Sister, Cynthia Allman and her husband, Dan; Brother, Thomas MacKay and his wife, Tammy. David also held a very close bond with Dena’s sisters, Megon (Trisha is what he called her)Harris and Shari(Lynn is what he called her) Lawrence. He said they were his sisters as well. He is also survived by and blessed with Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and his three furbabies, Ratatouilli, Minuit and Boomer, all of whom he loved very much.
David was a quiet and private person to most. Yet if you were fortunate to be called a friend and you considered him as such, you definitely got to know the crazy fun loving guy. He always said…… “Your true friends can be counted on one hand”. They are your “do or die”, go to the end of the earth for you.
David served in the United States Air Force for 8 1/2yrs. As time went on he found his nitch, which was being an actor on stage. One of his favorite plays in which he performed was “The Tuna Christmas”. He was also happy to get the job he wanted as Chemical Applicator for the City of Newport News. David held that position until he was called by God to come home.
A “Celebration of Life” party will be on November 12, 2022 from 5 pm to 9 pm. It will be held at Celebrations Banquet Hall, 9712 Warwick Blvd. (near Cozy’s Comedy Club). Dinner will be served at 6 pm. Friends and Family please come out and celebrate David’s life with us.
