The angels came for David Charles Vihnanek at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2015.
David, 80, was born to Anton and Ruth Vihnanek in Chicago, IL on October 24, 1934.
A graduate of Proviso East H.S. and the University of Dubuque. He spent his working career in business in the Chicagoland area. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and caregiver, Elizabeth; his twin brother Dennis; his children James Vihnanek and Jennifer LeBlanc; step children Deborah Keller, Stephen Bohm (Paula), Martha Bohm (Will Ransom), grandchildren Tess and Caley LeBlanc, Basil Alexander Ransom, and special god children Cameron and Meagan Springer.
David loved to play word games with his visitors. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Norfolk where a celebration of his life will be held on February 21, 2015 at 1PM. Family will receive friends at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Ave., Norfolk.
