Windsor – David Martin Rhodes, 57, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015. He was born in Windsor, VA. He is the son of Ernest Marvin Rhodes and Peggy Weaver Rhodes. Dave loved music and had many friends. He was an excellent farmer, and spent much of his time on the tractor in the garden. Dave did a lot of good in quiet and unassuming ways. Dave spent time with people and made us feel special. He was a good friend, and we loved him.
Dave is survived by his father: Ernest Marvin Rhodes; brothers and sisters: Tony Rhodes and wife Cathy, Joanne Davis and husband Robert, Joyce Shumate, Tammie Matthews and husband Steve; nieces and nephews: Cathleen, Amy, Diana, Jonathan, Kristin, Sherri, Kimberly, Jennifer, Chrystal, Heather, Adrian, Anthony, Connor, Joey, Bradley, Riley, Zoey, Maggie.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Colosse Baptist Church at 6361 Rhodes Dr., Windsor, Va. with a reception following at the church.
There will be a private burial at a later date.
Online condolences may be expressed to vacremationsociety.com. Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements.
