David R. Hyatt, born July 7, 1945, in South Carolina to Luther and Reba Hyatt, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2024. David found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was casting a line while fishing or finding serenity in the great outdoors during camping trips. He had a passion for NASCAR Racing and cheered on his beloved Dallas Cowboys during football season.
David began his journey into the working world early, starting as a carpenter at just 14 years old, and he dedicated himself to his craft until his retirement in 2016. He leaves behind his loving wife, Cynthia Hyatt, and is survived by his sisters, Patricia Duggan of Pampa, Texas, Judith (Darrell) Shady of Princeton, Iowa, and Mary Giles of White Oak, Pennsylvania, alongside several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Reba Ivey Hyatt of Norfolk, VA, as well as his brothers Ronnie K. Hyatt of Va Beach, VA, and Bobby F. Hyatt of Taylors, SC.
The family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in David’s honor, recognizing his desire to support research in the fight against this devastating disease. David will be remembered for his simple yet profound impact on those around him, forever cherished in our hearts.
