David Weeks – Virginia Beach
Colonel Ret. David Weeks died September 12, 2011. He was born in Scranton, PA to Edward and Hannah Weeks. He served in the Pacific theater in World War II and spent 11 months in the Korean War and Vietnam.
He attended the University of Maryland and graduated from the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. He was a Life Member of the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad having served as Captain in 1981. He was Commander of Chapter 20 of the Disabled American Veterans and served as Chaplain for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Weeks, son, David of Los Altos, CA, and daughter, Melanie Traylor of Petersburg, VA, grandchildren, Audrey Litow, Carmen Batten, Erin Jones, and Katie Harvell, and six great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11 AM with Father Esteban DeLeon presiding. The family will greet friends at the Church at 10 AM.
