Dennis Kenneth Rausch was 85 years of age when he passed away at home in Portsmouth VA.
Dennis was born in Euclid, Ohio. He was always told he was “handpicked” by his father, Clarence Rausch, and his mother, Luella Ruth Rausch. The Rausches adopted him as a newborn.
At age 12, his family moved to Phoenix Arizona where he lived until he joined the Air Force at age 17.
When Dennis left the Air Force he pursued a short path in the aero industry then spent most of his working life in sales, product research and development then as a purchasing manager.
Dennis is survived by and deeply missed by his wife, Sherry F Rausch. They were together for 51 years of adventure.
Having no family of his own, Dennis became a part of Sherry’s family. As a result, he acquired grandparents, parents, stepparents, 6 sisters and their spouses, a stepbrother and 2 stepsisters, uncles, cousins and all the nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and recently a great-great niece who accepted him and loved him.
Prior to 2018, they lived in Paradise California for 40+ years until it burned down in the Campfire disaster on November 8, 2018. Afterward, he and Sherry moved to Virginia to be near family.
Dennis is also survived by and missed by his spiritual family of Jehovah’s Witnesses on both coasts and those scattered throughout the country like the ashes from the Campfire.
Dennis’ battle with cancer has ended. Now, safely in Jehovah’s memory, he finally sleeps,
blissfully unaware, until he is resurrected to the new world to come.
