He was preceded in death by two sons, Jack and William Wilkes and two great-great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Terry (Amy), Larry and Richard Wilkes, Jeffrey (Rosa) Lawrence and Christopher Greer; daughters, Dianne Wilkes Little (David), Lahoma and Nona Lawrence and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
Cremation Society of Virginia assisted the family with the arrangements.
