Gloucester Point – Donald “Donnie” Lee Lynn, 75, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Hampton, Virginia to Graydon Dale Lynn and Julia Bledsoe Lynn. Donnie was a 1964 Hampton “Crabber”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Graydon Dale Lynn and Julia Bledsoe Lynn. Donnie served in the U.S. Army for three years. He later retired from Amoco Oil Refinery, Yorktown, Virginia. D.L. loved his co-workers and enjoyed his work environment. Donnie was a volunteer firefighter for Fox Hill, Hollywood, Maryland, and Gloucester. He loved helping others and saving lives.
Donnie’s number one priority was his family. He went to great lengths to make sure his wife and children were taken care of. He carried that on into his children’s adult lives. In his spare time, he enjoyed the Hampton Cup Regatta, Bluegrass festivals, boating, fishing, and sailing with his family. He was a regular bike rider, as well.
Donnie was a supporter for the Wounded Warrior Association, ASPCA, American Cancer Association, Gloucester Volunteer Fire Department and Gloucester Humane Society.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Horton Lynn; daughter, Paige Lynn; son, Gregg Lynn; his beloved babies, Romeo, Angel, Tiguan “Tigg”, and Miss B; brothers, Graydon Dale Lynn, Thomas Bledsoe Lynn (Marcie); nephews, Todd Lynn, David Lynn, Patric Lynn; and niece, Kristen Lynn.
